Now that the coin has flipped over to a Republican led congress we will see how many of them turn on their word in the name of compromise or sell out. We will see how these elected people will abuse the position or molest boy/girl pages or cheat on their spouse. That is the dark side but out in the open will they screw up as they have done before as they take money from special interest groups, trade off to get a bill passed or add on something to a bill to get their's through.
Congress has never been honorable. You can look back to the fight for independence and find the so called leaders doing favors, taking bribes and generally screwing up. Then taking credit for everything that goes right and blaming others for the failures.
I know this sounds pessimistic but I can't feel other wise. All we have to do is look at our policies, foreign and domestic and see that we are not working for the American people but for big business and re-election.

Union PERS- rip off
Yes... here we are in Drab Oregon with every union running a muck. Protecting their own asses by continuously voting to protect their status no matter what the coast to people that actually work for a living. These people are the new leeches of our society. No matter what the union nor at what level. Be it federal, state, local government, teachers or labor. They vote only to protect the job and the pay and their life style at tax payers expense.
Sure they'll tell you they are tax payers and that they are doing it for the children and for the drug scum and for the prisoner who needs to be rehabilitated. But it is all a scam and now that they are the majority of employed in this socialist state and they pay off the politicians up the wazoo. But the end is around the corner.
The socialists have a pretty good retirement program. It is really beefy and could pay off nicely if there is money in the bank. But there is no money in the bank. Every tax increase is to pay for the PERS retirement fund. To keep them in the money. But it's not working with this continuous milking of the working class. No jobs no tax money to feed the fat calf. But they keep going because they out vote the common working class that try to put a stop to this socialist madness.
The best part is when the tit is finally dried up and PERS falls through the floor these union clowns will have nothing. Bailouts can only postpone the inevitable.
